Fall is almost here! It’s my favorite time of the year. I love everything- the smells, pumpkins, Halloween, Friday night football, chilly weather, cute outfits, etc. Unfortunately, for me, I moved to Southern Arizona where it is boiling hot 10 months out of the year so we don’t get much fall here. Luckily though, I have found a way to get the fall feeling without burning to a crisp outside – bring fall into my home!
Each year, I add to my ever-growing collection of fall/Halloween décor. The majority of my collection comes from end of season clearance from the year prior but sometimes I will purchase items that I know won’t make it to clearance time (coupons, anyone?). Sometimes, the pieces that I have my heart set on are perfect in every way except for the price, even after coupons. When this happens I make it myself, or some version of it anyway.
I was in a store the other day when I noticed the cutest sign that read “Happy Pumpkin Spice season!” I instantly wanted to shove it into the cart and take it home with me! After looking at the price and doing some back and forth, I decided it was better to make something similar for half the cost. Fortunately for me, Michaels was having a vinyl sale and I was able to snag this awesome blank would sign with a 40% coupon (gotta love a discount!).
It took a lot of hit and miss to get the look I was going for, eventually, I had to make my own cut file for the pumpkin but it all worked out!
Fonts Used: Magnolia and Baskerville Old Face
Note: For this project, I used my Cricut Explore Air. This machine has earned its keep time and time again- I love it so much!
